The City of San Antonia (CoSA) is planning to undertake the construction of San AntonioInternational Airport Expansion project in Texas, the US.
The project involves construction of two new terminals (Terminal B and C), terminal B will cover an area of 18,952m2 and terminal C will cover an area of 16,350m2 and expansion of 2,286m runway and also five gates which could subsequently be expanded to 11 gates.
It includes the construction of terminal B baggage handling system, Terminal 1 In-Line Check Baggage Handling, demolition of Terminal 2, Terminal 1 Security Checkpoint Expansion, Terminal 1 In-Bound Baggage Claim Replacement and construction of 2,800 parking facilities.
3D / International, Corgan Associates, Inc, Jaster-Quintanilla, LLP, Shah Smith & Associates, Inc., Civil Engineer Consultants have been appointed as the design consultant.
A joint venture of Clark Construction Group and Thos. S. Byrne, Ltd was appointed as the construction contractor for the project in June 2007.
Civil Engineering Consultants (CEC) has been appointed as the consulting engineer. AECOM has been appointed as engineering consultant.
Terminal B was opened in October 2012.
Design activities on the Terminal C is expected to commence in 2020.
