John Thompson & Partners has been appointed as design consultant, Vectos as traffic consultant, ADAS UK Ltd as environmental consultant, and CampbellReith and Carter Jonas as consulting engineers for the project.

On October 13, 2014, Cemex submitted a planning application to the South Cambridgeshire District Council.

On June 3, 2015, South Cambridgeshire District Council approved the outline planning application for demolition work.
