Cavalier Energy Inc. (Cavalier), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Paramount Resources Ltd, is planning to undertake the construction of Hoole In Situ SAGD Oil Sands project in Alberta, Canada.

The project involves the construction of industrial infrastructure to produce up to 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil (bitumen). It includes the construction of well pads, source water and disposal well sites, pipelines, access roads, power lines, bitumen processing facilities and related facilities.

The project will be developed in four phases:

The first phase involves the construction of industrial infrastructure to produce up to 10,000bpd of oil.

The second phase involves the construction of industrial infrastructure to produce up to 30,000bpd of oil.

The third phase involves the construction of industrial infrastructure to produce up to 30,000bpd of oil.

The fourth phase involves the construction of industrial infrastructure to produce up to 30,000bpd of oil.

In 2011, the project delineation was completed.

In 2012, Cavalier has submitted an application to obtain respective approvals for the first phase to Alberta Environment and Water (AENV), Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

McDaniel & Associates Consultants Ltd conducted evaluation study for the Hoole Lands.

ACI Acoustical Consultants Inc has been appointed as acoustic consultant and Wood Group Mustang as front end engineering design (FEED) contractor for the project.

Front-end engineering and design work on the first phase of the project was completed.

In June 2014, Cavalier obtained planning approvals for the first phase from Alberta Energy Regulator (AER).

Cavalier is in the process of securing funds and additional regulatory approvals for the first phase of the project.

Scope

The project involves the construction of industrial infrastructure to produce up to 100,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil in Alberta, Canada.

The US$3,300 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of industrial infrastructure to produce up to 10,000bpd of oil in first phase

2. Construction of industrial infrastructure to produce up to 30,000bpd of oil in second phase

3. Construction of industrial infrastructure to produce up to 30,000bpd of oil in third phase

5. Construction of storage units

6. Construction of pumping stations

7. Construction of tank farms
