Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is undertaking the construction of Wilson Station Reconstruction project in Illinois, the US.
The project involves the reconstruction of the Wilson Red Line station.
The project consists of five construction phases, four of which are centered on the reconstruction of one of the four elevated train tracks serving the station. The other three tracks will remain in service while each track is being worked.It also include the construction of three new auxiliary entrances one on Wilson and second entrance at Sunnyside, dual platforms, redevelopment of the 1923 station house facade and former clock tower.
The project also includes the construction of new passenger accommodations, new platforms, replacement of bridge and track, the installation of elevators, signal systems, new turnstiles, bike parking, lights and escalators.
The Chicago Transit Partners (CTP), on behalf of CTA, has completed the historic architectural survey of the project.
The company has shortlisted five companies Clark Construction, Walsh Construction, F.H. Paschen, Kiewit Construction and a joint venture of Blinderman Construction and Judlau Contractors.
In June 2014, CTA awarded US$153.6 million, contract to Walsh Construction Company/II in One Contractors, Inc. joint venture.
On December 8, 2014, groundbreaking ceremony was held.
Construction works are underway and scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2017.
The project involves the reconstruction of the Wilson Red Line station in Chicago, Illinois, the US.
