CMO Construção e Montagem Offshore is planning to undertake the construction of an oil platform shipyard with production capacity of 15 platform modules per year in São Francisco do Sul, Santa Catarina, Brazil.
The project involves the construction 700m pier, 25,000m2 of administrative area, 100,000m2 of industrial area, 12,000m2 of ware house, wet dock of 350m x 120m and installation of 2 quay cranes with 50 tons capacity each and 2,000-ton gantry crane for lifting and integration of Semis SS, Drill Ships, and FPSO's.
The project was initially proposed in Porto do Suape, in the state of Pernambuco but has been changed to São Francisco do Sul, Santa Catarina.
Construction work is expected to start by 2016 and the shipyard is expected to be operational by 2018.
In July 2015, Fatma (Fundação do Meio Ambiente de Santa Catarina) released preliminary environmental license.
The developers are waiting for the Licença Ambiental de instalação (LAI) from Fatma.
