Chevron Kalinga Ltd. (CKL) of Chevron Geothermal Philippines Holdings Inc. in partnership with Aragorn Power and Energy Corp (APEC), subsidiary of APC Group, a subsidiary of SM Group are planning to undertake the Kalinga Geothermal Power Plant project in Northern Luzon, the Philippines.

The project involves the construction of a 100MW geothermal power plant. It will include the construction of substations, a power house, the installation of steam generators, and the laying of transmission lines.

CKL will explore, develop and operate the steam field and power plant.

In June 2015, Kalinga geothermal project has secured license extension of one year to continue exploration.

In October 2017, The Philippines Department of Energy has approved the extension of the geothermal energy service contract for the project up to September 24, 2018.

Planning activities are underway.

Scope

The project involves the construction of a 100MW geothermal plant in Apayao, Northern Luzon, the Philippines.

The US$300 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of substations

2. Construction of a power house

3. Installation of steam generators

4. Laying of transmission lines

5. Construction of other related infrastructure facilities
