The project involves the construction of a four-lane, 3.4km bridge, 55m above the water over the Soai Rap River from Nha Be District to Can Gio District. It includes the construction of bridge pillars, supporting walls, 2.4km of road approaches, and the installation of lighting, signaling and safety systems.
The HCM City Government has told the consortium to opt for the public-private partnership (PPP) format, which can be build-operate-transfer (BOT) or build-transfer (BT), and exchange available land in Can Gio District for the bridge.
In September 2015, CGUT received approval from the HCM City People's Committee to undertake a feasibility study.
In April 2017, the project received approval from HCM City People's Committee.
Planning activities are underway.
Scope
The project involves the construction of a four-lane, 3.4km cable-stayed bridge, 55m above the water over the Soai Rap River from Nha Be District to Can Gio District in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The US$351 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of bridge pillars
2. Construction of supporting walls
3. Construction of 16km road to link Binh Khanh with Rung Sac road in Can Gio
4. Installation of lighting, signaling and safety systems
