Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) announced plans to build the Oriental Nuclear Power Plant project in Veracruz, Mexico.
The project involves the construction of two nuclear power plants with a combined maximum capacity of 2450MW.
It includes the construction of powerhouses, administrative buildings, warehouses, access roads and related facilities, the installation of four nuclear reactors, pressure vessels, steam generators, turbines, safety and security systems and related equipment, and the laying of transmission lines.
The plant will be developed in two units: Oriental I and II, and Oriental III and IV. Oriental I and II will be ready to operate by 2026 and Oriental III and IV by 2027.
