Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) is planning to construct a rapid transit bus line in Albany, New York, the US.
The project involves the construction of a transit bus line. It includes the construction of a new transit hub at the Crossgates Mall, roundabouts at Northway and off Route 20, a bus-route connecting the Harriman state campus and the University at Albany campus and related facilities, and the one-lane access from the Northway to Crossgates Mall into a two-lane route.
In July, the CDTA received US$7 million in federal funds for the engineering works of the project.
In September 2015, CDTA completed a conceptual design study and detailed alternatives analysis.
Funds for additional project development have been awarded by capital district transportation committee (CDTC) through its transportation improvement program.
In July 2017, CDTA is applying additional funds under the Federal Transit Administration's Small Starts program.
Planning activities are underway.
