Cummins Cogeneration Ltd (CCL), a joint venture of Cummins Inc. and Gentec Energy PLC, and Sapele Power Plc (SPP), a subsidiary of China Machinery Engineering Corporation and Eurafric Energy Ltd, are planning to build a gas-fired power plant in Nigeria.

The project involves the construction of a 300MW gas-fired power plant and will be developed in two phases. It includes the construction of a substation, a powerhouse, gas storage tanks and other related infrastructure, the installation of turbines and generators and the laying of transmission lines.

In February 2016, CCL and SPP signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the plant.
