Bouygues Development (Bouygues) and Runnymede Borough Council (RBC), in a joint venture, are undertaking the construction of a mixed-use facility in Surrey, the UK.
The project involves the construction of mixed-use facilities on 2.5ha of land comprising 213-homes and is planned to be developed in two phases.
The first phase includes the construction of three, five and six-story residential buildings, a new Waitrose store with 132 parking spaces, 101-room Premier Inn hotel, a gym, two retail units and 109 new homes.
The second phase includes the construction of a shopping mall and three, three- to six-story residential blocks, a six-screen cinema, 5574m2 of retail and restaurant space, cafes, 104 new homes, 313 parking spaces, related facilities and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.
Broadway Malyan has been appointed as architect, Nexus Planning as the planning consultant and Premier Inn as management contractor.
In March 2014, Bouygues submitted the planning application to the Runnymede Borough Council and secured approval in July 2014.
In February 2015, the Runnymede Borough Council secured US$51 million fund from the Public Works Loan Board for the project.
Bouygues in-house division is undertaking the construction activities.
In October 2015, Bouygues finalized terms with its partners to achieve financial close.
Construction activities are underway and slated to be completed by November 2017.
