Borealis is planning to undertake the construction of propane dehydrogenation plant in Kallo, Belgium.
The project involves the construction of propane dehydrogenation plant with the capacity of 740,000 tonnes per annum. It includes the construction of a laboratory, a raw material or feedstock processing unit, a polymerization unit, a degassing bin, a production unit and a purification unit, and the installation of vacuum chambers, and safety systems.
In November 2016, Jacobs wins feasibility study contract for the project.
In February 2017, Borealis has selected Honeywell UOP LLC, a subsidiary of Honeywell International Inc., to provide process technology for the project.
Honeywell UOP will also provide basic engineering design as well as services, equipment, catalysts, and adsorbents for the new plant project.
As of January 2018 ,study on battery limit areas is underway and the FEED phase is expected to be complete by third quarter of 2018.
Construction activities are expected to commence in the third quarter of 2019 and will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022.
Feasibility study activities are underway.
