It includes the construction of an entrance lobby, an auditorium, an education center, galleries, management office space, departmental office space, cafeterias and parking facilities, and the installation of elevators, safety and security systems.
Buro Happold Engineers Ltd has been appointed as structural and facade engineer, Atelier Ten as the mechanical and electrical engineer, Gardiner & Theobald LLP as cost engineer and Francis landscape Ltd as the landscape architect.
On December 17, 2014, Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) was appointed as architect following an international competition in 2013.
On January 19, 2015, ZHA unveiled the artistic renderings of the project.
In December 2015, Bee’ah issued tenders for the construction contractor and On May 23, 2016, Al Futtaim Carillion was awarded the lead contract for the project.
Construction works are underway and are scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2018.
