Banedanmark is undertaking the construction of a railway line in Denmark.
The project involves the construction of railway tracks and electrification works for the improvement of railway line between Roskilde to Kalundborg.
It will include the construction of signal stations, bridges, viaducts and terminals, the renewal of signaling systems, and the laying of overhead transmission lines.
The Banedanmark planned to construct the railway line on design-build basis and invited pre-qualification bids with a submission deadline of February 2013.
On February 28, 2013, eight companies submitted pre-qualification bids and the bids were reviewed on March 4, 2013.
In April 2014, five consortia were pre-qualified namely, Aarsleff Siemens, a joint venture of Per Aarsleff A/S, Siemens A/S and Siemens AG; ASB Consortium, a joint venture of Alstom, Bravida Danmark and SPL Powerlines; A joint venture of Strukton and Balfour Beatty, A joint venture of Obrascon Huarte Laina and TSO and EIS joint venture.
On May 1, 2014, tender was released.
On May 18, 2015, design build contract was awarded to Aarsleff Siemens joint venture.
In December 2015, Banedanmark initiated public consultation process for preparing environment impact assessment (EIA) for the project.
