Beach Energy Ltd (BPT) and Itochu Corporation (Itochu) are jointly planning to construct a liquefied natural gas facility in Spencer Gulf, South Australia, Australia.
The project involves the construction of an LNG plant on a 50ha area with the capacity to produce 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG.
It includes the construction of crude oil storage tanks, processing units, gas and oil storage tanks, control rooms, condenser units, loading and unloading facilities, the laying of oil transportation pipelines and LNG distribution pipeline structures, and the installation of fire protection and safety systems.
The project requires about 60 peta joules of gas per annum, which will be supplied from BPT's extensive gas portfolio that includes both conventional and unconventional gas resources.
Parsons Brinckerhoff has been appointed as consultant for the project.
In January 2015, the project received development approval from the South Australian Government.
The project involves the construction of a 1MTPA LNG plant on a 50ha of the area at Port Bonython in Spencer Gulf region, South Australia, Australia.
