Summary

Petroleum Pipeline Corporation (BOTAS) is undertaking the construction of the Sirnak natural gas pipeline in Turkey.

The project involves the construction of 185km 40-inch-diameter gas pipeline. It includes the construction of storage tanks, a pumping station, metering units, vacuum chambers, compressor units, compression stations and related facilities, and the installation of valves and safety systems.

On December 28, 2015, BOTAS issued a tender for the project with a submission deadline of February 9, 2016, but the responses to the tender indicated that the low bid of US$29.8 million is still too much above the target cost of US$25 million. On April 26, 2016, six consortiums submitted the tenders for the project. They are a JV of Yertas Construction Tourism San. and Maden Tic, FERNAS Construction Inc., a JV of HES Group Energy Construction, SAHIN YILMAZ Energy Construction and EMRE RAY Enerji Insaat San, VEMAK Construction, a JV of Metag Construction Tic. AS, Ceytun Construction, and a JV of Cem-Sel Construction, Tourism and Trade Co. Ltd.

VEMAK Construction has been appointed as construction contractor.

On August 4, 2016, construction works commenced.
