Alberta Renewable Power Limited Partnership, a joint venture between Boralex Inc (BLX) and Alberta Wind Energy Corporation (AWEC) is planning to undertake the Old Elm & Pothole Creek Wind Farm project located 10km south of the town of Magrath in Alberta, Canada.
The project involves the construction of a 300MW wind farm. It will include the construction of wind tower platforms, a substation and other related infrastructure, the installation of generators, transformers and turbines, and the laying of transmission lines.
Mainstream Renewable Power has been appointed as associated developer.
Meteorological testing of the site began in the first quarter of 2010 with encouraging wind resource measurements to date.
The project is at Gate 3 in the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) approval process and awaiting approvals for finalization of the transmission connection.
The project involves the construction of a 300MW wind farm located 10km south of the town of Magrath in Alberta, Canada.
The US$760 million project includes the following:
