Beedie Group (BG) is planning to undertake The Village at Fraser Mills project in British Columbia, Canada.

The project involves the construction of a mixed-use community on a 36ha of land. It includes the construction of 3,700 residential units, a 25,548m2 of the commercial or retail facility, a 55,741m2 of business park or light industrial facility, a 64,749m2 of open space, parks and trails, water and sanitation facility, parking and other related facilities, and the installation of safety and security systems.

In November 2008, the project received a planning consent from the Coquitlam Council and Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden Architects, Henriquez Partners Architects and Dialog Design are appointed as architect, Brook Pooni Associates Inc and Perry + Associates (P+A) were the Landscape Architects of the project.

Beedie Construction acts as the sole general contractor for all Beedie industrial developments.

In December 2008, Terasen Energy Services signed an agreement with The Beedie Group to design, build and manage an alternative district energy system on the project.

In October 2016, BG will submit an updated plan to amend the official community plan and development agreement to the Coquitlam City Council on December 1, 2016.

In February 2017, a zoning text amendment application, a development agreement, a Subdivision agreement to create a Comprehensive Development-1 (CD) lots from the existing CD-1 lots and an official Community plan amendment to amend the Waterfront Village Neighbourhood Plan have been submitted to the City Council and are being reviewed.

BG is awaiting for approval from the City Council.

Scope

The project involves the construction of a mixed-use community on a 36ha of land in Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada.

The US$250 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of 3,700 residential units

2. Construction of a 25,548m2 commercial or retail facility

3. Construction of a 55,741m2 business park or light industrial facility

4. Construction of 64,749m2 open space facilities

5. Construction of water and sanitation facility

6. Construction of parks and trails

7. Construction of parking facilities

8. Construction of related facilities

9. Installation of safety and security systems
