The Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) and Zhejiang Jindun Holding Group Co., Ltd (ZJHG) are planning to build a coal-fired power plant in Chittagong, Bangladesh.
The project involves the construction of a 1,320MW coal-fired power plant comprising two units, each with a generation capacity of 660MW on 404ha of land. It includes the construction of a powerhouse, a substation and related infrastructure, the installation of generators and transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
In October 2016, BEZA signed an agreement with ZJHG to develop the project.
As of February 2017, All the pre-conditions work including an environmental impact assessment, feasibility study and a master plan in line with a pre-qualification license has completed.
As of July 2017, Zhejiang-Jindun signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a 1,320-MW coal-based power plant near the zone.
