Brockman Mining Ltd (BCK) is planning to construct Marillana Iron Ore Processing plant and related infrastructural facilities in Pilbara region, Western Australia, Australia.

The project involves the construction of a processing plant with a capacity of 22.5 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) of iron ore. It includes the construction of a 300km railway line from Marillana to Port Hedland, port infrastructural and other related facilities.

The project will be constructed in phases. Phase one known as Maverick with a capacity of 2.5 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) and phase two known as Agincourt with a capacity of 20 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) of iron ore.

Ausenco Ltd has been appointed as lead feasibility study consultant, Golder Associates Pty Ltd as study consultant and METS Engineering as front-end engineering and design (FEED) consultant.

United Group Ltd (UGL) has been appointed as FEED study consultant to review the layout and capital cost of processing plant ,and Scope Australia as project management and engineering service consultant for developing civil engineering, design and technical documentation/models to support the project developmental phase (FEED/definitive feasibility study (DFS)).

BCK is pursuing two potential rail options for the proposed project:

1. A new East Pilbara Independent Railway (EPIR) to connect Marillana and other mines, potentially including BCK's Ophthalmia Project, directly to the proposed North West Infrastructure (NWI) port facilities;

2. Negotiated access to The Pilbara Infrastructure's (TPI's) existing regulated railway, for the project, with potential to service the Ophthalmia Project in future, to connect to the proposed NWI facilities.

BCK signed an agreement with Aurizon Holdings Ltd (AZJ) for rail infrastructure and services, and port services. AZJ's scope of work includes developing a rail spur from Marillana to the TPI railway, developing a rail spur from the TPI railway to the proposed NWI port facility at Port Hedland; and providing rolling stock to service an ore haulage arrangement from Marillana to Port Hedland.

BCK signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tianjin Port (Group) Co. Ltd (TPG) to explore the opportunity for a potential strategic investment by TPG in the infrastructural activities.

In August 2009, pre-feasibility study complete and DFS was completed in September 2010.

In 2011, FEED study was completed.

In March 2016, further study activities on phase one was underway.

In July 2016, Engenium was appointed as study consultant for railway.

In September 2016, exploration and evaluation process were underway.

In December 2016, Engenium was awarded contract to undertake feasibility phase, initial engineering development works, implementation and construction for first phase.

On January 27, 2017, BCK signed a multi-users agreement with the Pilbara Ports Authority and a stockyard land lease agreement for the use of facilities at the Utah Point Bulk Handling Facility.

On February 2, 2017, BCK appointed Qube Holdings as Logistic Sub-Contractor.

On April 27, 2017, BCK purchased 216 second-hand accommodation rooms, for future construction and the project’s operational village.

BCK is in the process of appointing const consultant for the project.

Scope

The project involves the construction of an iron ore processing plant with a capacity of 22.5MMTPA in Hamersley Iron Province, Pilbara region, Western Australia.

The US$2,600 million project includes the following:

1. Construction of a 300km railway line from Marillana to Port Hedland

2. Construction of port infrastructural facilities

3. Construction of other related facilities
