British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCIMC) is planning to undertake the construction of a mixed-use complex in British Columbia, Canada.
The project involves the construction of a 1,47,344m2 mixed-use complex comprising a 17-story office tower, and 18 and 20 story residential buildings.
It includes the construction of 799 residential units, including 427 units of market rental housing and 372 units of market condominiums, 27,871m2 of retail space, conference rooms, meeting rooms, parking spaces and related facilities, and the installation of safety systems and elevators
Bentall Kennedy (Bentall) has been appointed as planner and Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership as architect.
In January 2013, BCIMC acquired the project site for US$130 million from the Federal Government of Canada.
On April 29, 2015, Bentall, on behalf of BCIMC, filed a rezoning request report to incorporate the residential element in the project.
On May 13, 2015, the City of Vancouver recommended the approval of the rezoning request.
In January 2017, Musson Cattell Mackey Partnership submitted a rezoning application on behalf of BCIMC.
On February 6, 2017, the members of the civic advisory body voted to support the proposal to rezone the project site.
Planning activities are underway.
