Brisbane City Council (BCC) and The State of Queensland (SoQ) are planning to undertake the construction of a mixed-use community in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
The project involves the construction of a mixed-use community on 20ha of land. It includes the construction of 850 dwellings which includes two-three story freestanding homes, townhouses and apartments, apartment buildings ranging up to five-stories, commercial space on 2.1ha of land, a community center, fitness centers, sporting facilities, retail, parking, related facilities, and the installation of elevators and safety systems.
Buckley Vann Town Planning Consultants has been appointed as planning consultant, Deicke Richards Architects as architect, McGregor Coxall as landscape architect, Cambray Consulting Pty Ltd as traffic and transport consultant and Bligh Tanner Pty Ltd as engineering consultant.
In August 2015, BCC and SoQ held public consultations.
On October 7, 2015, the draft master plan was presented for consideration by the Community Planning Team.
On October 18, 2015, a draft Bulimba Barracks Master Plan was released by the BCC for community feedback.
As of December 1, 2015, BCC approved the master plan.
As of December 8, 2015, the council voted in favour of the TLPI which will provide more detailed guidance over the next 12 months in the assessment of any development of the riverfront site.
In June 2016, the TLPI adopted by council followed by the Queensland Government approval.
In August 2016, BCC approved the city plan amendment.
On February 21, 2017, BCC formally adopted the master plan of the project.
On May 2, 2017, Queensland Government approved the statutory amendments.
