Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) is developing a 269.2MW hydroelectric power plant over the Mucajaí river, a tributary of the Rio Branco, in Roraima, Brazil.

The project involves the construction of a dam and wall structures, substations and powerhouse, the installation of generators and turbines and the laying of transmission lines.

The power plan will have two units: Paredão M1 (Unit I) of 69.9MW and Paredão A (Unit II) of 199.3MW will be installed on Mucajai River, a tributary of the Rio Branco.

The Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA) granted the acceptance of the Study and Environmental Impact Report (EIA-Rima), prepared by the Energy Research Company- EPE.

In April 2016, the project was included in Brazil's Plano Decenal de Energia 2024 program.

Scope

The project involves the construction of two units of a hydroelectric plant with total power generation capacity of 269.2MW in Roraima, Brazil.
