Adani Pench Power Ltd (Adani Pench), earlier known as Adani Power MP Ltd, a subsidiary of Adani Power Ltd (APL), is planning to undertake the Chhindwara Pench Thermal Power Plant project in Madhya Pradesh, India.
The project involves the construction of a 1,320MW coal-based thermal power plant on 750ha of land. The project will comprise two units, each with a power generating capacity of 660MW.
The project will include the construction of a power house and sub-stations, and the installation of generators and transformers.
Adani Pench had appointed GIS Enabled Environment & Neo-graphic Centre (GreenC) to carry out Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study for preparation of Environmental Management Plan (EMP); and M. K. Soil Testing Laboratory for Geotechnical Investigation.
In March 2010, Adani Pench has applied for Terms of Reference (TOR), with the Ministry of Environment and Forests.
On October 16, 2012, the project has obtained environmental clearance from the concerned authorities.
As of November 2015, the project is facing delay due to protest from farmers, laborers and tribals of the region.
