AW Hawaii Wind LLC (AWH), a subsidiary of Alpha Wind Energy (AWE) is planning to undertake the construction of an offshore wind farm in the US.

The project involves the construction of a 408MW offshore wind farm. It includes the construction of substations and related infrastructure facilities, the installation of 51 offshore wind turbines, and the laying of transmission lines.

EMD International A/S, Silva Matos and Neas Energy have been appointed as engineering design consultants.

On January 22, 2015, AWH submitted a lease request to the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to develop the project.

On February 26, 2015, BOEM determined that AWH is legally, financially, and technically qualified to hold an outer continental shelf (OCS) lease.

In the first quarter of 2016, BOEM has called for unsolicited leasing requests.

In March 2016, BOEM has completed reviewing leasing requests.

In May 2016, review of environmental plans and the process for Call for Nomination and Information held.

BOEM is in the process of releasing a Call for Nomination and Information.

Subject to approval, construction of infrastructure facilities will commence in the third quarter of 2018. Construction of the wind farm is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2019 and are scheduled to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2020.
