Alara Resources Limited (AUQ) and Al Hadeetha Resources LLC (AHR) (formerly Pilatus Resources Oman LLC) are planning to undertake the Washihi-Mullaq-Al Ajal Copper-Gold Development project in Muscat, Oman.
The project involves the development of copper (Cu) and gold (Au) deposits over an area of 80km2 comprising a processing and mineralization plant.
The project includes the construction of a 1MTPA copper concentration plant, the drilling of 11 core holes. Further, an additional 3,970m have been drilled, targeting further extensions of mineralization to the northwest and southeast. Alara has completed 6,155m of drilling in 23 diamond core and 11 Rotary Core drill holes at the project.
A 478km line high resolution ground geophysical magnetic survey has been completed over the Washihi-Mullaq prospects.
In September 2013, process for updating the scoping study commenced. However, it was later temporarily put on hold due to an initial upgrade to assist the Washihi ore from 0.9% Cu to 1.4-1.8% Cu.
The scoping study was concluded in July 2014.
In December 2014, Public Authority for Oman renewed the term of the Exploration Licences.
In February 2015, AUQ signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mawarid Mining LLC to collaboratively on optimizing a plan for the development of the Washihi copper-gold deposit.
In April 2015 , AUQ received positive outcomes from update to previous Advanced Scoping Study and has received final bids for execution of feasibility study.
In April 2017, the Public Authority for Mining (‘PAM’) confirmed receipt of no objection letter from the Ministry of Tourism in relation to the Al Hadeetha Copper Project.
Feasibility study on the project has been completed.
Progesys Inc. has been appointed as Project Management Consultant for the Project.
Planning activities on the project are underway. Construction works are scheduled to be completed by 2018.
