Arkwright Summit Wind Farm LLC (ASWF) is planning to build a wind farm in Arkwright, Chautauqua County, New York, the US.
The project involves the construction of a 78.4MW wind power plant. It includes the construction of a substation, 19km of gravel access roads, a control building and related infrastructure, the installation of 36-turbines, transformers and wind towers, an operation facility, laying 29km of underground electrical lines and communication cables and the laying of overhead generator lead line.
Camoin Associates Inc. (CAI) has been appointed as study consultant, WEST Inc. as a technical consultant and EDP Renewables North America as an associate developer.
In October 2008, CAI submitted an economic and fiscal impact study and on April 3, 2009, ASWF submitted a supplementary impact statement.
In July 2014, ASWF held public consultations on the development and on November 12, 2014, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority awarded a US$206 million to support four renewable energy projects in New York.
In November 2015, the Second Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS2) was completed and EDR is in the process of preparing the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS).
Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) was prepared by Environmental Design & Research, Landscape Architecture, Engineering & Environmental Services, D.P.C. (EDR), Ecology & Environment, Inc., Fisher Associates and Western EcoSystems Technology, Inc.
On December 22, 2015, FEIS was submitted to Arkwright by EDR and it was accepted on January 11, 2016.
On November 3, 2016, Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) approved financial assistance for the project.
As of January 2017, ASWF is working with the Department of Environmental Conservation and the Army Corps of Engineers for the final permits for wetland and stream crossing.
The project involves the construction of a 78.4MW wind power plant on 2,630.457ha of leased private lands in Arkwright and Pomfret towns, New York, the US.
The US$156 million project includes the following:
1. Construction of a substation
2. Construction of 19km of gravel access roads
3. Construction of a control building
4. Installation of 36-turbines
5. Installation of transformers
6. Installation of wind towers
7. Laying of 29km of underground electrical lines and communication cables
