Agencia Nacional de Transportes Terrestres (ANTT) is planning to undertake the construction of Brasilia to Goiania Express Railway in the states of Goias and Distrito Federal, Brazil.
The project involves the construction of 210km express railway known as “Trem Pequi” between Brasilia, Anapolis and Goiania.
The project also includes the construction of stations and overpass, the installation of signaling systems and electric transmission systems.
The new rail route will be used for transportation of Cargos and passengers. The trains running between the routes will have the speed of 180km and cover the distance within 1 hour 30 minutes.
Agencia Nacional de Transportes Terrestres (ANTT) has launched feasibility, technical, economic and environmental (EVTEA) study contract for the project.
ANTT has received documentation of 41 consortiums, 23 consortiums led by Brazilian companies and 18 by foreign companies.
ANTT has selected six consortiums, led by Brazilian, Spanish, French and Portuguese contractors to submit proposals to conduct (EVTEA) feasibility, technical, economic and environmental studies.
EGIS-VEGA/LOGIT/JGP/MMSO has been selected for feasibility and technical study.
In June 2016, the feasibility studies are completed.
In November 2016, ANTT after participatory meetings, it was concluded that the study was not sufficient and there is a need for complementary studies, prior to conducting a bidding process.
An investor group, formed by Korean company A'REX, Chinese and Brazilian entrepreneurs have shown interest in the project.
