The project involves the construction of a magnesium smelter with a capacity of 50,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) and being developed in three stages.
The first stage includes the construction of a pilot demonstration plant capable of producing magnesium smelter with a capacity of 25 kg/day.
Second stage includes the expansion of plant capable for production of up to 5,000 tons per year.
Third stage includes the expansion of plant capable for production up to 50,000 tons per year.
The project includes the construction of a processing unit, fuming furnaces and storage facilities and related infrastructure, and the installation of machinery.
Construction works of the pilot plant commenced in the fourth quarter of 2016 and are underway are underway. Subject to the completion and operation of the pilot plant and necessary approvals, main construction works are scheduled to commence by the fourth quarter of 2017.
