Avangrid Renewables (AGR) plans to build a wind farm in Windham County, Vermont, the US.
The project involves the construction of a 55.2MW wind farm. It includes the construction of a substation, access roads and related infrastructure, the installation of 16 turbines of 3.45MW each, transformers, and the laying of transmission lines.
In 2014, AGR compiled and summarized the Meteorological (MET) tower data from measuring the wind resource on the site.
Earlier the project was planned with 20 turbines. Later, on October 5, 2016, the plans were reduced to 16 turbines.
Planning activities are underway. Simultaneously, the project had been opposed by two groups the Grafton Woodlands Group and the Friends of Windham. Subject to necessary approvals, the construction is expected to commence in 2019.
