The project also involves the demolition of current Brisbane Transit Center buildings, the construction of hotels, 4000 new apartments, a 90-story residential tower, commercial towers, creation of a future dining precinct in and around the heritage Roma Street Station building, cultural facility buildings planned for above the upper Roma Street rail lines, medical facilities, a educational campus, a walkable precinct linking The Barracks with King George Square and onto the Queen Street Mall and new cycle paths.
In June 2016, NRA Collaborative was appointed as a Design consultant.
The Brisbane Live project is being developed by the AEG Ogden in partnership with Cross River Rail Development Authority.
In June 2017, AEG appointed Jones Lang LaSalle to explore opportunities and attract private investors.
Currently, AEG is awaiting approvals from the Queensland government.
