Alexander Development Group (ADG) and Bluestone Organization (BO) are planning to undertake a luxury apartment tower in Mount Vernon, New York, the US.
The project involves the construction of an 16-story apartment tower comprising 249 units on 24,991m2 of land. It includes the construction of 683m2 of retail facilities and 1,393m2 of ground-floor retail space, 580 parking spaces and other related facilities.
Kensworth Consulting has been appointed as development consultant, Perkins Eastman as the architect, BFJ Planning as environmental consultant, and John Meyer Consulting as consultant.
Banta Homes Corporation, a subsidiary of BO, has been appointed as general contractor.
In December 2014, Mount Vernon City Council approved a special permit on the project. It will allow the ADG and BO to soon start renovating the retail building and parking garage into a 249-unit apartment complex.
In January 2015, ADG and BO were in the process of securing the final approval from the Mount Vernon City Planning Board and Architectural Review Board.
On December 29, 2015, ground breaking ceremony held for the project.
In the second quarter of 2016, The Project was briefly delayed due to legal issues concerning parking lot which was sorted out by November 2016. As part of it, the developers were forced to change plans on retail space and restructure their business plan.
In June 2017, ADG and BO are in the process of closing financing for the project.
