State Agency for Renewable and Alternative Energy Sources (ABEMDA) is planning to build a wind farm off the Coast of Pirallahi Island, Absheron in Azerbaijan.
The project involves the construction of a 200MW offshore wind farm over an elevated platform supported by two piers. The project will be developed in three phases.
The first phase includes the construction of the station, the second phase includes the construction of a road between Pirallahi and Chilov islands and the third phase includes laying of the distribution network.
In December 2015, ABEMDA was in the process of securing funds for the project.
The project will be implemented by state-owned oil-extraction company(SOCAR), with the participation of foreign investors.
Feasibility studies are underway.
