Amphibian Aerospace Industries (AAI) is planning to undertake the aircraft manufacturing facility in Warnervale, NSW, Australia.
The project involves the construction of an aircraft manufacturing facility on 5.2ha of land with a production capacity of 24 aircraft annually and being developed in two stages. The new facility will be used to upgrade an Albatross aircraft with new engines, state-of-the-art full glass avionics cockpit, and some extra comfort features.
The project includes the construction of production lines, assembly units, warehouses, administrative space and related infrastructure, and the installation of machinery and related equipment.
The first stage includes the constitutions of a new 2,760m2 aircraft hangar to house an office and showroom while the second stage includes the construction of a full aircraft manufacturing facility.
In December 2016, AAI submitted a development application to the council. Council requested AAI to adjust the size of its proposed hangar to address flooding concerns.
On February 2017, an amendment to the development application was approved.
On March 17, 2017, AAI received planning approval for the US$2.8 million first stage to begin construction.
