Shipment statistics are derived from the U.S. Census of Manufacturers and the Annual Survey of Manufacturers, and are estimated and forecasted by SBI. Historical data are provided for 2001 through 2005 (all 2005 shipments are estimates), with forecast data from 2006 to 2010.

Note that the values are in net selling values, i.e., free on board (f.o.b.) from the manufacturing plant, and not the retail/wholesale price sold to the end consumer.
