In theory, the higher the active ingredient of an extract, the more expensive the product is. For all saponins, the purity standard of each saponin is different. Therefore, you cannot simply use the price to measure each saponin. For example, different purity ginsenoside can be used for a variety of applications. In contrast, the purity of notoginsenoside affects its application. Notoginsenoside for injection (More than 85%) and notoginsenoside for capsules (More than 75%) are not a standard. However, high purity (More than 90%) is universal for each application. Similarly, the high purity grade price is the most expensive.

7. Does water solubility of saponin influence its applications and valuation as well as isolating methods
Yes, it does exist. At present, notoginsenoside generally uses anhydrous ethanol solvent. However, this makes the process more complex. So, notoginsenoside has higher prices. In general, notoginsenoside is basically used only in the pharmaceutical industry. Notoginsenoside can be used as injections, tablets and capsules. In each plant, the content of different saponins is different. Therefore, the water solubility and content of saponin affect the extraction cost. Ginsenoside can use water or organic solvents as extractants. But the latter's price is higher. Therefore, the water solubility of saponin can affect the cost and application.
