Off-Highway Trucks Procurement in the US
This report is intended to assist buyers of new off-highway trucks, which are heavy-duty transport vehicles containing beds or containers that can be tilted to unload loose material and other contents. This report focuses on the two most common types of off-highway trucks: articulated dump trucks and mining haul trucks. These trucks are not suitable for highway driving and are not regulated by the Department of Transportation. Top manufacturers of off-highway trucks include Caterpillar, Komatsu, Liebherr and Atlas Copco. Suppliers are typically large international companies with wide-reaching distribution networks. Buyers include mining and construction companies. This report excludes on-highway trucks and other industrial equipment, such as loaders, shovels, bulldozers and cranes.
