Excavators Procurement in the US
This report is intended to assist buyers of new excavators, which are sold by manufacturers and wholesalers. Excavators are versatile machines used in construction and other civil engineering projects to dig trenches or foundations, lift heavy objects and mine or drive large piles of soil to or from a specific location. They feature hydraulic cylinders, a boom, an undercarriage, an arm and a bucket that is controllable from a cab sitting on a rotating platform. This report focuses on backhoe and crawler excavators and excludes dragline, bucket-wheel and vacuum excavators, bulldozers, front-end loaders, forest machines, mining shovels, dredgers, cranes, bucket-wheel excavators and all other earthmoving machinery.
