Deep Sea Cargo Transportation Services Procurement in the US
This report is intended to assist buyers of deep sea cargo transportation, which involves the shipment of cargo by vessels flagged by the United States, as well as those not flagged by the United States. Most shipping routes in this market are international. Buyers purchase shipping capacity on a spot basis (i.e. at current market rates) or through contracts. In this report, buyers are also called shippers, and deep sea cargo transport providers are also called carriers. Typical buyers include manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and freight forwarders, while providers are either major global carriers or regional carriers. This report does not include the transportation of passengers or other types of cargo transportation.
