This report is intended to assist buyers of central processing units (CPUs). A CPU is hardware within a computer device that is responsible for performing a variety of operations within the computer system. CPUs fetch, decode and execute a sequence of stored information, also called programs, by calculating, distributing and carrying out instructions. CPUs are typically purchased to maximize the processing power and capacity of large devices, including laptops, personal computers and servers. CPUs are purchased by many downstream buyers such as cloud storage companies, online retailers, government agencies and technology firms.
