Catalytic Converters Procurement in the US
This report is intended to assist buyers of catalytic converters. A catalytic converter is an emissions control device that is used to convert toxic byproducts of combustion into less toxic substances. For example, catalytic converters oxidize carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide or hydrocarbons into water. Catalytic converters can also reduce nitrogen oxides to nitrogen and oxygen. These components are typically used in conjunction with internal combustion engines, including gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles. Key buyers include auto manufacturers and auto parts dealers, although consumers and heavy machinery manufacturers procure catalytic converters to a lesser extent. This report does not include catalytic heaters, exhaust pipes, resonators, mufflers or related installation services.
