Alkaline batteries are commonly used in household items such as television remotes, toys, flashlights, radios and digital cameras. The primary suppliers of alkaline batteries to business buyers are manufacturers and wholesalers, whereas the primary suppliers for consumers are retailers. Key buyers of alkaline batteries include consumer electronics manufacturers, medical device manufacturers and smoke detector manufacturers. This report excludes system-powering and industrial batteries such as lead-acid, nickel-iron, nickel-hydrogen and thermal batteries.
