Though a fall in revenue has resulted from a decrease in mobile termination access (MTAS) fees, the NBN interim satellite service contract has provided a financial bonus for the company. Nevertheless, the Optus satellite unit may be sold following a strategic review held earlier in 2013, with a possible of money raised to be of invested in network infrastructure. While overall revenue increased by 1% year-on-year in FY2012 into FY2013 the company is now experiencing revenue decreases across some of its markets.
