We've maintained our 2023 GDP growth forecast for Japan at 0.9%, following a 1.5% expansion in 2022. We believe that pent-up demand and easing supply chain disruptions will continue to support the economy. However, the recovery will pause in H1 2023 due to the increasingly sluggish external environment, as suggested by some leading indicators.
