Macro - Country Economic Forecasts - Slovenia

We now forecast Slovenia’s GDP growth at 6.7% this year, up from 6.3% previously thanks to a stronger-than-expected Q1. Driven by domestic demand, GDP rose 0.8% q/q in Q1, defying fears of stagnation and leaving the economy 7.3% bigger than it was prior to the pandemic. But we expect the economy to slow in the near term, with inflation peaking higher and staying elevated for longer. Consumers have become very pessimistic as their real incomes take a hit.
