The Maltese economy finished the year on a solid note, with Q4 GDP expanding by 1.2% q/q, bringing 2022 growth to 6.9%. The economy was supported by domestic demand. Net exports, though, detracted from the expansion. Despite the tourism sector's strong performance – arrivals more than doubled from a year before – imports grew faster than exports.
