Macro - Country Economic Forecasts - Ireland

Irish GDP rose a strong 1.8% q/q in Q2. But inflation, an upcoming jump in energy bills, and rising interest rates all point to momentum slowing in the near term. That said, low unemployment and the prospect of more government support in the Budget later this month should support activity. We now expect 2022 GDP to rise 7.8%, up from 5.2%, with growth slowing to 1.2% in 2023.
