Country Economic Forecasts - Indonesia

Country Economic Forecasts - Indonesia

Following the very slight moderation in GDP growth in Q3, we expect growth momentum to remain fairly stable over the next few quarters. Indeed, headwinds from higher interest rates, modestly higher inflation and the challenging external environment are likely to keep a lid on growth. As such, we maintain our 2019 growth forecast at 5.1%. However, we note that even with high-frequency economic data painting a mixed picture for Q4 activity, the numerical effect of Q2 and Q3’s relatively strong GDP figures mean that growth in 2018 as a whole could exceed our 5.1% forecast.
