Soil fumigation helps in weed control and the elimination of parasitic attacks by nematodes. The liquid form led the market demand, with the largest share in 2015, followed by the gaseous form. In November 2016, Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. announced that the Company received the registration of MBI-601 EP, a biofumigant, from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Biopesticide Pollution Prevention Division (BPPD).
