Travel and Tourism - Mongolia - November 2018
“The fortunes of Mongolia’s international tourism sector have been mixed in recent years, with sustained annual growth in the number of foreign visitors seemingly elusive. The year 2017, however, appears to have marked a big turning point with the number of international tourists growing by 16.1%. The Mongolian government hopes that this strong growth will continue through to 2020, as the sector progresses towards its target of one million arrivals. A goal that was set – alongside foreign tourism spending of US$1 billion by the same year – to reinforce how ‘serious’ it has become about developing the country’s international tourism industry.”
